Delgado’s in Great Bend. For decades, this building was the Old Trail Cafe.
Delgado’s has been here a long time, but it’s only open on weekdays, so I had never been in. Had a chance to visit some time back when my mom and brother were in the area and I went to Great Bend on a weekday.
In a Mexican restaurant, I usually order a chile relleno. And since everyone fixes them differently, you never know what you’ll get. I wasn’t expecting this. Hadn’t had a relleno like this one since Gringo’s in Emporia closed about 20 years ago.
Gringo’s closed less than 15 years ago I *think*. I remember eating there, and we moved here 16 years ago this week.
That is an odd looking rellano.
My mom and I have been looking for a Gringo’s rellano for years!!! I know they aren’t the “authentic” thing, but we still remember how good they were!
Well, that’s an interesting chile relleno. Or something. Looks like a turd. (Sorry, I had to say it.) I’ll stick to homemade.
When I saw this post I looked at the picture and thought . . . Hmmm! I wonder what Tom will think of this chile relleno. Clicked on comments and had to laugh out loud at his comment. I think Tom needs to have a Chile Relleno dinner for FOP.
