On the way to Colorado earlier this month, Dave and I stopped for dinner at the famous Pho Hoa One in Garden City. This restaurant was in the top 24 of the 8 Wonders of Kansas Cuisine contest sponsored by the Kansas Sampler Foundation.

It’s in a nondescript building off of a parking lot, at 713 E. Fulton in Garden City, and you kind of have to look for it.

We arrived at 4:30, which was just when they were opening for the evening hours. A woman and her two children were waiting by the door for it to open. This was a favorite eating place for her and her children she said.

We had some spring rolls for an appetizer. Beautiful as well as delicious.

I had shrimp with vegetables.

Dave had something with lightly-fried noodles that he really enjoyed.

A great meal all the way around.

  1. Good to see someone write something positive about this popular Garden City restaurant! I know so many people from Eastern Kansas who won’t set foot in Finney County let alone Pho Hoa.
