The Crawford County Courthouse in Girard, pop . 2753. It’s one of those counties in which the largest town in the county (Pittsburg, pop. 19,573) doesn’t have the courthouse. Crawford County is in the southeast corner of Kansas.
Since we do most of our town-hopping on weekends, Dave and I don’t always get to see the insides of courthouses, but we caught Girard on the way home from our Arkansas trip in April.
I was fascinated by the beauty of the marble-lined staircases.
Great shots,Cheryl. Hate to sound trite, but they don’t build ’em this way nowadays. The marble is beautiful.
The marble is lovely, and I love the pale green of the ceiling.
