Dave chose Red Lobster in Topeka for his birthday lunch.
Cheddar Bay biscuit
Dave had lobster tail, grilled shrimp and skewered bay scallops.
I had the Sailor’s Platter: fish fillet, fried shrimp and shrimp scampi.
After lunch, we went to see “Men Who Stare at Goats.” An amusing film, but not laugh-out-loud or slap-your-knee funny.
Happy Birthday Dave! Looks like you had a good time. G:-)
Happy birthday, Dave!
Among the many restaurants where my mom worked when I was growing up was a Red Lobster in Houston. I think that’s where the shine wore off of that particular restaurant for me, but my brother and I sure thought it was fancy in the beginning when we got to eat there. To go with our dinner, he always got a Roy Rogers and I got a Shirley Temple with extra cherries, and that made us feel very grown up to be having “mixed drinks”. The cheddar biscuits are still the bomb.
What a neat birthday. And he added on my wall on facebook . . .
“The best part about getting older is I get to do it with Cheryl (not that she seems to be doing that).”
I thought that was so sweet and such a thoughtful statement.
the Red Lobster is one of my most favorite places, too! oh! those cheddar biscuits! I usually get the shrimp platter, but I love the lobster, too! ummmmmmmm……ummmmm!
Don’t you just love those cheddar biscuits? I could make a meal out of them.
