• Lower Fox Creek, Schoolhouse, 12 to 4 p.m., Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, Strong City.

• Red House Discovery Hikes, Tallgrass National Prairie National Preserve, Strong City.

• “Some Enchanted Evening,” 7:30 p.m., Bruder Theatre, Emporia State University.

Sunday

• Madison Days, Madison.

  1. If you want to feel an energetic town, come to Madison for Madison Days, especially Saturday. The people here really wake up for this somehow.

    I was out talking to neighbors and visiting people about 7 this morning. That’s odd for me. At 7 am, I’m usually in my nightgown having my coffee.

    I’m hyper today. Very unusual for me.
