Some photos from this morning’s Farmer’s Market. It’s in place until 1 p.m. today at the Lowther South Building. I like Jeanette’s strawberry preserves. I took these photos with my new iPhone and am still learning how to FOCUS it. So, blurry pictures here. Mark Sherman with his tote bags for crazy cat ladies. Linda [...]

There were more customers than this picture indicates, but the new location for the Emporia Winter Farmers’ Market seemed to work pretty well yesterday. It’s now held inside the old Lowther South school on the first and third Saturdays of the month, through April.

Meet Drew Kuchera. He’s a regular vendor at the Emporia Farmers Market. I stopped by his table again today – for some more blackberry jam, and I also picked up a jar of banana peppers this time. With the purchase of two items of canned goods, he gave away samples of his steak seasoning, so [...]

Dianne and Bill Ihling, of Buffalo Hollow Farm, sell their vegetables at the Farmers’ Market: squash, cucumbers, Japanese eggplant, tomatoes, etc. And they also sold farm fresh eggs, two of which I just had for breakfast (over-easy, in case you’re wondering). They were good-tasting eggs with orange yolks. At Saturday’s Farmers’ Market, you can hear [...]
