Push it real good
I stopped by Studio 11 last week to purchase a stocking cap because hey, it’s winter. And it’s almost Christmas – look there’s the tree and the Christmas records. Some of us are old enough to remember slipping the LPs out of the jacket and then out of the sleeve and placing the record on …

For years I’ve noticed these melted mini-blinds hanging in a south-facing window of a downtown Emporia building. Had my camera handy yesterday on my walk. In the adjacent window, the blinds aren’t melty, but they are broken. And, inexplicably, there’s a photo of a clock behind in the broken space.
That Gratitude Thing
Today’s Flyover People column as seen in The Emporia Gazette: THAT GRATITUDE THING I’m thankful for my spleen, for its unseen and heretofore unacknowledged work. I’m grateful for taste buds and that my body grows fingernails without the go-ahead from me. November nudges us to consider what we have around us and to express appreciation. …
