Sure, it’s October now, but this is what September looked like at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve near Strong City.

Are there places you just drive to?
Have you ever been on the bus tour from the National Park center there?
This photo was taken while on the bus tour. One of these days I’ll post more about the bus tour, but haven’t yet. I was hoping to see the bison – and we did, but they were waaay off yonder.
You can hike all over the grounds. It’s open 24 hours a day, but you can’t camp there.
Ninety minute bus rides are available – I’m not sure if that’s an every day thing or a weekend thing. We were there last Sunday.
But -individuals can’t drive on the grounds, there are only the bus rides.
Hiking isn’t really one of my skills. Ambling along not too far away from a means of getting back is more like it. Does the bus stop and let you get off and wander around?
