There’s a new place in town. Late this afternoon Dave and I stopped by Do-B’s at 704 E. 12th in Emporia. Dave had the fried chicken po’ boy.

Regina Murphy wrote about D0B’s in The Gazette the other day: Do-B’s does it right.

And this, I had to bring half of that burger home, it was so big. This burger is called the Ol’ Blue. And it has blue cheese which is melted onto a piece of grilled mozzarella. It was very good, but probably not on my diet, or on anyone’s diet. But good nevertheless.

Check out the Do-B website.

  1. Okay, that looks yummy and very alluring. But it’s decidedly not something I can eat right now. But I did look at their website. I love Phillie sandwiches, love ’em. This sentence just cracked me up: “Provolone or Cheese Whiz can be substituted upon request.”

I’d love to try that place someday.

  2. Their secret special spice mix that they put on their hamburger patty’s are wonderful. I can taste pepper, but I can’t figure out the other blends – but the seasoning is excellent and very tasty. No hamburger will be good after eating those. Millard and I got the Jayhawker – beefburger topped with grilled mushrooms, fresh avocado and Swiss cheese. Yummy!
I will stick to Freddie’s for my french fries and J’s for my onion rings. 🙂
