Guy & Mae’s is an unassuming brick-front building in Williamburg. Upstairs is the Mason Lodge, next door is the City Hall.

This restaurant is one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas Cuisine and will be featured in a soon-to-be-published guidebook by the Kansas Sampler Foundation.

Inside is a long room with booths and bar stools. There’s also a pool table in the front of the restaurant.

This is a half-slab of ribs with two pieces of white bread. They also have sandwiches. Sides available are potato salad, cole slaw and baked beans.

It had been more than 10 years since I’d been to Guy & Mae’s. The ribs were really good, lots of flavor.

But the best thing was that I was able to share a meal with my friend Amy and her daughter Emily.
