When Dave and I were in Lawrence on Saturday, we tried Genovese, an Italian restaurant on Mass. St.

Dave had a hamburger and fried potatoes.

And I enjoyed my wild mushroom and spinach panini.

  1. Cheryl, you sometimes tempt us with pictures of the good food that can be found in Kansas, i.e., Olpe Chicken House, I wonder if you have ever read Carolyn Hall’s Prairie Meals and Memories? Carolyn grew up in a town north of Great Bend so small I can’t remember the name, and then became a nutritionist.

  2. Peg, Yes, I have Carolyn Hall’s book. I met her at a book event at Town Crier in Emporia last year and thought she was great. She’s from Odin, which is sort of in my hometown neck of the woods.

    Heather – nope, not yet.
