At the Breadbasket Restaurant in Newton, the bierocks aren’t your regulation bierocks. These have meat and cheese. Normal bierocks have meat and cabbage and onions. Now I thought these were good, but my brother said ‘meh.’

  1. “Bierocks” is a German word? What does it mean? (I thought ‘cabbage’ had to be in there somehow) My mother used to call them “cabbage biscuits” and it wasn’t until I was at Neosho Rapids and we had them for lunch — and I discovered that ‘bierocks’ WERE Cabbage Biscuits–except my mother just used cabbage & onion & hamburger. I like a mix of hamburger and sausage –to give them a little ‘zing’ and also add cheddar cheese, too, like they do in SLC. These look a little small to be “regular” bierocks. And, where’s the mustard?
