Bob Arndt

Bob and Christine Arndt were at Saturday’s Farmers Market with flowers and veggies and Bob’s Breakfast-Energy Bars. I love those breakfast bars, the honey-nut-chocolate chip bars. (Ingredients: oats, honey, bananas, pecans, whole wheat flour, canola oil, semi-sweet chocolate chips, wheat germ, vanilla extract, kosher salt, and ground cinnamon.)

Bob and Christine Ardnt were mentioned in Saturday’s Gazette as well.  They’re raising money for the Beau Arndt Foundation in memory of their son, age 19, who was hunting – and was shot and killed by a poacher on Dec. 15, 2007. From reading the stories that ran after his death, it sounded like Beau had been an exceptional young man.

The Arndts want to raise money to build a lodge in their son’s memory – a lodge where children can enjoy outdoor activities because Beau loved the outdoors so much. A horse named Dancer has been donated to the cause – and there will  be a drawing for the horse. Here’s the story: A Horse for Beau.

The suggested donation for the drawing is $5 per ticket. For information about the drawing for the horse, how to get tickets, etc., go to www.beauarndtfoundation.org.
