KFC2Is nothing real anymore? Went to KFC last night. Buttery spread, honey sauce. I guess they have to water everything down to save money, make things cheaper.

KFC

I tried the grilled chicken and other than a bit of a grilled flavor, it seemed and tasted just like fried chicken – it was just as greasy.

Time out.

Well, maybe not. I just checked the fat/calorie content online. Their grilled thigh reportedly has about half the calories and fat as original, about a third the fat and calories as extra crispy.

  1. LOL! My sis says the grilled seems just as greasy to her, too. I’m certain it’s just as salty. And I have always hated their gravy. It just ain’t right. 😀

  2. As a local beekeeper, I can tell you that honey sauce is mostly “high fructose corn syrup” made from GMO corn. Get the real deal from a local beekeeper and taste the difference. Lots of folks are having reactions to supermarket honey. Why? It’s mixed with corn syrup to make it go farther (and that’s why it’s cheaper) – it’s the corn syrup causing the reactions. Buy pure, raw, local honey from a local source and you won’t have to settle for the glitzy packaged “sauce” that isn’t what they want you to think it is.

  3. Shep’s 100% right about honey. But am I missing a trick here? Surely the point of KFC is the coating? The chicken is so pumped full of water that it’s otherwise almost impossible to eat.
