Regina Murphy who writes “Murphy’s Menu” for the Emporia Gazette hosted a pie contest at this afternoon’s Farmers Market. There were 9, 10, 11 pies, I don’t know, I didn’t count. Samples were made available in little cups and at the end of the line, people voted for their favorite.

Where’s Rand?

I don’t know. It’s not any fun to play “Where’s Rand?” when Rand never shows up anymore. The Farmers Market is Randless this year. I think I saw him once. Once. I didn’t even see Tracy today. Or Munchkin #2 – she’s usually there, too.

  1. So–which pie won? Who baked the winning pie? I thought today was Thursday so I made about a billion mints for a wedding and now I am ahead a day—but missed the Farmer’s Market!

  2. We spent the day out melting in the sun in Topeka. By the time we got home, all I could think about was air conditioning and a shower. Sorry to have missed the market. Don’t miss us Saturday! The whole family will be there Saturday!!!

  3. That top picture looks totally scrumptious! Wonder what kind it is. I think I may have had to take that one home!

  4. Lately I have been having to put some time in at the office on weekends and Tracy prefers that I do it on Saturday rather than Sunday.

I was there this morning though – and no Cheryl!
