Toilet Seat Art Show and Auction
The “Toilet Seat Art Show and Auction,” will be opening Saturday, August 30th. The town of Lucas, KS needs accessible, eccentric, visionary, quirky public restrooms on Main Street. The auction will be a fundraiser for this facility sponsored by the Grassroots Art Center and the Flying Pig Studio and Gallery.
The exhibit will be located at the Flying Pig Gallery at 123 S. Main Street. Over forty creative individuals and grassroots artists’ both in-state and out-of-state have delivered whimsical ornamented entries for the show with the deadline for entries August 26th. Imagination, and creativity reign with fanciful themes: The Royal Flush, Big Mouthed Alligator, Outer Space, Coke-a-Cola, “He’ll never find us in here,” Pheasants Forever, Original Sin, Flushed with Pride, and Natural Gas.
A Silent Auction will begin on selected toilet seats starting on August 30th, Labor Day weekend, at the Lucas Adam’s Apple Festival ending on October 18th.
In addition, special ornamented seats will be reserved for the live auction on October 18th beginning at 3:00 PM at the Flying Pig Studio and Gallery. Bids maybe place by phone or email.
Prior to the auction a mosaic workshop (fee) will occur in Lucas 10 AM-2:30 PM with instructor Mri Pilar at the G-Whiz Garage. Participants will be working on design elements for the artful public restrooms with a break for lunch.   1. I can’t see what they’re saying. When I go out there, I’ll find out and post it.

    I’m sure it is funny though. LOL

    There will be a whole lot more entries posted soon, so check back now and again. I’ll try to remember to post on FOP discussion in the arts dept when I get new ones up.
