Floating flowers on Lake Wooster at Emporia State University.

Sometime last week, I was at ESU bugging Roger and we stepped outside the Memorial Union so he could show me these flowers.

  1. After your visit, Cheryl, I observed a heron standing on the mini island eying a fish. It leaned, focused, jabbed and got a fish. The herons are mashing down some of the flowers.

  2. Are those fixed in place? Or floating? How do they get them out there and maintain them?

They look very good out there. Dots of color on the water. Somehow peaceful.

  3. They are anchored. Not how I would do it. I had a friend give me a Disney World “Gardening with Micky” book which told how to build the floating planters. I shared it with the grounds people and they built the planters which they have used for several years, now.
