By For Church Sunday, today we go out of state….
… to Nevada, Missouri, which is just over the state line from Fort Scott.
This is the church at Cottey College, a two-year college for women.
I used to drive through Nevada all the time, when my aunt and uncle lived in Bolivar, Missouri.
If I am going to Roaring River State Park, I feel my trip is at the half-way point when I see Cottey College in Nevada. If really don’t know if its the half-way point, but it seem like it is.
I’ve known both students and staff who have attended/worked there over the years.
I have been a member of PEO for several years – although I have not been active since we moved to Emporia. A few of my students from Elkhart attended Cottey College. There is also a boys military college in Nevada – so it doesn’t make a girls college seem so boring. Ha!
Hubby’s Aunt Connie was House Mother at Cottey College for about a 100 years!
