Every town has one. Here’s Carlton’s elevator.

At least someone is keeping a record of events in Carlton.

There was also this sign in Carlton. I wonder why it was posted – and how long it’s been there.

  1. About 10 years ago or so—I had a Model A & Model T club out of Kansas City contacted me—-about arranging a tour for them—–at that time we had Cedar Point Country Store——–to make a really really long story shorter—I set up a tour for them of places they could stop & stay & visit in our area–as the president of the club made the plans as far as Bushong, Ks. & I completed their tour—– they came & had a great time———then I was contacted by them again –if I could help with another tour & of coarse I could & would——well they came & I found out when they got to our place it was their “national tour”———that people from all over the USA had trucked their cars into Kansas City to make this tour with them——one really interesting couple was from New Mexico They had a picnic lunch at our business & we had a group of friends come in– who played music & we sat up on our loading dock as a stage & we made music for them!
They had a wonderful time & so did we!
About three months later I received a National Model A or Model T collectors magazine——& one of the group was a national writer & photographer & in the center spread of the magazine was a six page story about their tour & lots of pictures of our business & all the cars out front on Main street & also pictures of our band -etc/etc/etc—— I still hear from some of those folks!
What a great group of people!!!!
