Dave Leiker’s winter scenes will soon be shown in the Skyline Room at ESU.

Roger Heineken had them printed on ESU’s wide format printer. I caught Roger this afternoon, mounting them for display.

I’ll post a notice when the exhibit goes up.

  1. We hung about seven units of Dave’s large-format images but the system didn’t work. I’m going to have to do something different Monday. I like the three panel herd of cows. Big impact.

We are calling the show “Gathering Winter: An Exhibit of Recent Photographs by David Leiker, flyoverpeople.net.”

  2. When I first looked at this I thought it was taken thru bars or windows. A few blinks made me realize it was cut into three pieces. Great way to display.

  3. Yeah, at first I saw it as though through a window with 3 panes, and also thought it was snowing. That is a magnificent picture. Powerful. Cows are magnificent beasts, and Dave captured that.

  4. Well, Roger’s creativity adds a whole new dimension(s) to the photos. The large format prints split into panels is all his idea. It’s a great idea and I’m happy he wants to use my photos. My own art printer seems pretty insignificant now. (sigh). They really do have more presence at a large size.
Some time back the Kansas City Symphony (through the Symphony in the Flint Hills group) requested a couple of my photos for the annual gala. There were several other photographers included too. The plan was to blow them up to extreme size for use around the room. I didn’t get to see them, but it’s it’s hard to imagine the image holding together when enlarged as big as they’d planned. I don’t remember the dimensions, but it was really huge.
