Rand Simmons looks over one of Millard Harrell’s carved walking sticks. Instead of driving the 4-5 miles, Rand and Tracy rode their bikes out to Toad Hollow.
Roger Heineken and Carol Marshall visit in a shady spot in the garden. The stonework to their right was made by Alan Tollakson, who has carved stone for Rice University, Kansas State University, Boulder Law School and the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City.
Roger doing a Statue of Liberty impersonation using Alan Tollakson’s stonework.
I didn’t get good photos of all the artists and their work, but maybe I’ll have another shot at it tomorrow.
Art in the Garden continues on Sunday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Toad Hollow is east of Emporia on I-35 to exit 135. South 1/4 mile, then east 1/4 mile. Free Admission.
Poppies at Toad Hollow.
We’re on our way today, soon as I change from my nightgown into real clothes. I do NOT know why we can’t just wear robes and slippers out in public. It’d be so much easier to get out of the house in the morning…..
BTW, that picture of Roger is a terrific picture.
I meant, we’re on our way to Toad Hollow.
HAH I took an almost exact picture of the poppies and larkspur! I must have good taste in scenery!
