This evening, I pick up the paper, The Emporia Gazette of course, and what do I read??

That my peanut butter has been poisoned! That’s a fine how-dee-do!

A salmonella outbreak with 288 cases in 39 states has been linked to tainted peanut butter.

Guess what I had for lunch?

Peter Pan and Great Value brands with the code beginning 2111 are the ones to avoid.

Guess who stocked up on peanut butter last time she was at the store?

In case you never hear from me again, you’ll know why….

  1. I have one jar of Peter Pan that Caitlin has been eating on every day for the past month. She’s had PBJ for breakfast for the past week, and I just bought another jar the day before yesterday. Ray’s Apple Market said I can bring in the jars and they will refund my money and take care of returning them. I went to Dillons after work yesterday and picked up a jar of Jif and a jar of Skippy. You never know how Caitlin’s taste buds are going to react. Jif came out on top. We are waiting for Peter Pan to return.

  2. Just when you thought that at least your peanut butter was safe from contamination….I eat Jif, it comes from the J.M. Smucker people, the same folks who make the strawberry jam I eat.
