Before the 2007 tornado, the main tourist attraction in Greensburg was The Big Well.

In the center of that circle of Dakota sandstone is the cover to the Big Well.

Apparently a lot of tornado debris landed down in that well and it took some work to clean it up. But, you can’t go down in it anymore – the clerk said the steps couldn’t handle the traffic. I don’t know if they’re going to make it accessible to the public at some point or not.

You can peek down inside and sorta see some of it.

This is a new building, but a temporary building. I think the plans are to eventually build a museum that will house the meterorite(s) and tell about the tornado and reconstruction.
