I like this one. I will have to ponder it too. My auto signature on the discussion forum is: “I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I
can reach for; perfection is GOD’s business.”
But I like the wholeness idea better. Perfectionism leads to frustration and a feeling of being incomplete. excellence isn’t always something we need to have at our fingertips. But wholeness, now that would be the best thing.
Is wholeness even possible? Really? I suppose it is fleeting too, because nothing is permanent, everything changes.
Even better. Maybe we are. I’ve often said we’re whole as we are. For instance, we don’t need to be married or to have children to be a whole person.
I think maybe my thought right now is that wholeness is possible, but that it changes as we grow and change. We can recognize the wholeness, but better now name it definitively, because everything changes, and embracing our wholeness means we have to be able to flex too.

What if we are already whole – and just don’t realize it? What if all we have to do is come to that conclusion – and be at peace?

This discussion reminds me of the personal test of your own humility…
just when you think you have it, you don’t!
