Bill's
Hardware, pictured above and below.
A
ball diamond sits along the main drag (Commercial Street) just
south of the hardware store.
At
the north edge of the business district is Hartford High School,
so most of the action in town takes place on Commercial Street.
Other
Hartford businesses include: Hartford Elevator, the Hartford State
Bank, Stever Heating and Air Conditioning, Julie's Barber Shop,
a convenience store/pizza shop, car wash, and Scrappers, a scrapbook
store (601 Mechanic.)
An
All Veteran's Memorial is on K-130 as you enter town and if you
turn there and go west a few blocks, you'll find the Flint Hills
National Wildlife Refuge Office. From the Refuge Office, you can
find The Townsite Trail which takes an easy hike through the woods.
The Neosho River flows on the east edge of town and a double-arch
concrete bridge is spray-painted with the "Who's Who"
of Hartford.
