I looked up from my writing chair a few minutes ago and noticed a big fluttery creature hovering over the August-blooming lilac, so I went out to greet my company. He/she didn’t have much to say, but seemed to be enjoying the lilac nectar.

Gorgeous photos! Thanks for sharing with us. I love swallowtails but unfortunately haven’t seen as many this year. Probably just too hot. I know I’d fly away to the mountains and cooler temps if I could. Weather.com shows the temp as 95 F but w/heat index 107 F.
