The parking meters are gone from downtown Emporia – note the parking-meter-free pole on the left. I’d have gone about 3 feet to the left with this sign so it didn’t distract from the mural.

That’s so sad. Nowhere in downtown at all?
I know. I didn’t have a problem with meters. Now, when I’m at the Java Cat, instead of running out and slipping another penny! in the meter, or a dime, I have to actually move the car – which is a lot more of a hassle.
