Wasn’t the sky incredible at times yesterday? So blue! The wind wasn’t very friendly, though. I wish I would have gone out and taken a few photos anyway.
Beautiful picture Cheryl. The longer I live in Kansas, the more content and in awe I am. This is a wonderful place.
I finally was driven to look up the word “pike”, because it is used so many ways. Of course one of the definitions is “turnpike”, tollroad.
But when I was a kid, There was an amusement park I only went to a handful of times (in my whole life) in Long Beach, California called “The Pike.” There were lots of rides and a big roller coaster that I think is all gone now. I’ll have to look that up.
Anyway, when I just now looked up the word “pike” I found that there’s no mention of amusement parks. I cannot figure out why they called it “The Pike.” I wonder if the reason is lost to history.
