Ness County Courthouse, Ness City.
Built in 1917. There’s a Kansas scene with a landscape on the top of the building. Another side has the Great Seal of the State of Kansas.
Seasonal decorations. Nearly every office or business has one of those people who love to decorate the workplace for the holidays or the seasons.
Someone made the ladies’ restroom a pleasant place.
Lace curtains even.
Some county history is in the glass cases along the wall.
Corporal Noah V. B. Ness for whom the county is named.
I love that someone took the time to decorate. It makes what could be a very cold space a little more inviting. My favorite thing about this courthouse, though, is the Kansas scene painted in that circle. What a unique and interesting touch!
Since I cannot visit the place in person, thanks for all the photos. They are a good substitute for actually being there.
