Maybe this is a dumb question: I’ve seen several Carnegie Libraries used for other things. Why aren’t they used for libraries anymore? This building is really interesting looking. Too bad it’s private property now.
I imagine the main reason for new libraries is a space issue – more books, more computers, more room for meetings. I haven’t really seen many additions to Carnegie libraries – usually towns just build a new facility from scratch to get what they want/need.
