  1. Seems that is common practice, one pastor, two churches. I don’t know if it’s the times or the area.

The same Methodist minister serves both Madison and outside of Olpe. And the First Christian Church pastor in Madison also serves the Presbyterian Church in Madison. And Catholic priests commonly have two or three parishes. The one in Eureka also does Sunday mass there, at Hamilton and at Madison.

It was something I never saw as I was growing up,

  2. What a lovely little church! I love the simple, clean look fancied up just a tad with the gothic arch windows, the “winged” arch of the entryway, and the single steeple. The German inscription above the door is a nice touch too.

  3. It is a pretty church. WAY back in the 50’s & 60’s, my little Lutheran church at Woodbine shared a pastor with a rural Ramona church for many many years. Now the Ramona church is closed, and well, so is the Woodbine church, but the building has been moved to Camp Tomah Shinga and is called the “Woodbine Chapel”–or something like that. It’s in a beautiful place, down in a valley, with big hills all around and it looks exactly the same on the inside, except for the basement.
