Emporia is working on such neat improvements. To see to details like this is an indication that people care about their town.
I think I mentioned in another post that I really like the signs at the town entrances that say “We are building an inclusive community” or something to that effect.
I wish I could take credit for a great sign like that. I wonder whose idea it was. I like the attitude of “we’re all in this together.” To heck with dividing us by race, gender, religion, age, socio-economic issues, education, sexuality and other ways we find to divide and exclude one another. We ARE all in this together, and we ARE building an inclusive community. Er, well, Emporia is.
