Dave, on his day off, spent the morning working on my computer. He sorted out the “hairball” on my hard drive, installed a new one (hard drive, not hairball), and added more memory. He cleaned all the fuzz on the fan and now I can’t even hear it running. Quiet. (And I should probably add here that no, don’t ask, he does not offer computer-repair services.)

So, anyway, as a reward for his work, I took Dave out for movie and dinner. We went to Topeka to see Star Trek. Then, Red Robin was nearby and we ate there. (Now there’s half a Bleu Ribbon Burger in the fridge.

Star Trek: Wow.

I’d heard it was good, but it was better than I had expected. And where did they get these people, these actors that so look like a young Captain Kirk (except this guy can act), and a young Spock, a young Uhura, a young Sulu, a young Bones.

  1. I might add here that Dave suggests Sharol Cutrell to do computer jobs like that. She used to be an English teacher at the high school, but is now retired and is a computer tutor. She is very good . . . and Dave must think so too.

  2. I loved the Star Trek movie too, with the exception of the kid who played the young Chekov. I don’t know…he seemed too wimpy or something. The guy playing Bones did such a spot-on job, didn’t he?

Your story about the computer repairs reminds me that my guy is so good with stuff like that that he gets requests all the time. He’s about at the point where he’s not going to do it for free any longer…except for me and (probably) his parents. 🙂
