Dave and I had been at the Kemper Museum, thought we’d walk to the Country Club Plaza to look for lunch since it was only over a ways and down the hill and over some more – and parking is such a problem in the city.
It ended up being a long walk, and a hot walk.
Neptune.
There are places to eat on the Plaza. Here’s Buca. But we had just eaten Italian food a few days earlier -in Emporia’s new Italian Gardens (the old Pizza Hut building).
We’re not Country Club people. Except for the Barnes and Noble, there wasn’t a store I wanted to go in.
Well, we did go in the Apple store, that is a place we could relate to. It was air-conditioned. And, there were about 20 employees on hand, helping the 20 or so customers. It was a high-energy place.
None of the restaurants spoke to us. So, we walked the mile, uphill, in the heat, back to our vehicle, and drove a ways (not very far) over to the Westport area.
Along Westport Road. More our style.
