If you’ve listened to Kansas Public Radio on Saturday mornings, you’ve heard the kind and pleasant voice of this woman, Kaye McIntyre.
She hosts the Saturday morning line-up on KPR, from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. She covers “Weekend Edition Saturday,” “Car Talk,” “Whad’Ya Know?” and one of my favorite radio programs, “This American Life.”
Kaye also produces and hosts the show, “KPR Presents,” Sunday evenings at 8 p.m.
I feel honored that Kaye asked me to participate in this week’s “KPR Presents” – the Father’s Day edition. Last week I visited the station to record “One Man’s Treasures” with her. She recruited others to record commentaries as well. I believe KPR’s Laura Lorson will be on the program.
Should you care to listen, you can tune in to KPR Sunday at 8 p.m. via the Internet, or if you live in north-east or east-central Kansas, you can catch it on your radio. 91.5 FM, Lawrence, 89.7 Emporia, 91.3 Olsburg-Junction City.
As a promo for the Sunday evening show, KPR also plans to air my commentary tomorrow, Friday morning during Morning Edition, most likely at 6:35 and 8:35 a.m. And it will be archived on the KPR website.
P.S. KPR’s signal in the Emporia area has been poor this week. Apparently, weather conditions are causing interference from another radio station. Not sure when it will clear up. BUT, if you listen online, you’ll hear a good clear sound.
I just finished listening to Cheryl on KPR. Our reception is doing strange things right now. It sounds like it is from outer space, but I listened anyway and as usual – it was a great commentary.
My internet connection has been excruciatingly slow the past couple of days. I hope that’s on archive so I can hear it later.
Larry has been listening to a radio station that sounds like it is coming to him through one of those tin can string phones. LOL
Maybe later will be better.
