If I lived in Newton, I would so be in here all the time, drinking coffee and scribbling in my notebook – Pages Books & Coffee.
It’s a small, but bright and welcoming bookstore, lots of little artistic extras with the layout and artwork. It’s just a pleasant place. I asked permission to photograph it, so I could show you all. There’s a warm natural light that comes through the front windows.
I bought a book of poetry from them.
Books written by my friends, Newton authors Karen Ross Epp and Beverley Olson Buller are for sale here.
And there’s a coffee shop toward the back, with a small gallery. And they have live music on Friday nights.
But wait, there’s more….
These are actually three stores with interior doorways between them. To the south of Page’s is Prairie Harvest (above) – a beautiful natural foods store and deli, with the tin ceiling and hardwood floor from the original 1880s building. On the other side is Kitchen Corner – a store packed with pans and utensils and all things kitchen.
The Kitchen Corner.
Here’s the outside of Prairie Harvest.
I like the retro doorstop.
I was just in Pages and Anderson’s on Friday; really neat stores. Placing copies of KTT in Anderson’s, and talking to Pages about a novel signing later. BTW, used Flyover People to get to my website while at Pages. 🙂
That’s cool, Robert. Good luck with the book sales!
