Last night Dave put together this new look for the Flyover site. Ain’t it beautiful?

  1. Oh—- I just looked closer at the picture at the top of the page— I think that was a picture of my Dad & I on horse back several years ago-checking pastures in the middle of the Flint Hills!!!!!! 🙂
Thanks for the memories that flooded back into my head by looking at that picture!!!!!

  2. There are more commenting options available now in the newest version of WordPress (reply and quote), but it seems a little glitchy if one isn’t already logged in. I’ll do my best to get that fixed. It looks like you’re all able to use it okay.

p.s. If you want an image (avatar) to show next to your comments, you can set it up at http://en.gravatar.com/

  3. It takes some time for the gravitar to show up, but it will eventually. Remember the email address you register at the gravitar site needs to be the same one you use with your Flyover People News profile.

  4. Hi, folks,

Months ago I referenced your site on my WP blog, and today a link to your site appeared in my stats. I’m really glad, because I had meant to link to you in my blogroll and make people a bit more aware of the fact that there is life in flyover country! I’m an Iowa gal myself, now in Texas, but spent years prowling the territory. Now all I can do is read books like Prairy Erth and your blogs – but one day I’ll get back where the buffalo roam! Enjoyed the visit and will be back.

  5. Hi, Cheryl,

Oh, I thought my name would link to my blog. Not sure why that didn’t happen. Anyhow, it’s http://shoreacres.wordpress.com. Somewhere I have a photo from your site, but I did link to Dispatches from Kansas at http://shoreacres.wordpress.com/2008/06/22/the-flooded-heart-singing-again-at-the-river/. I’ll poke around for that photo.

I’m new to blogging and writing, but enjoying it tremendously. The only thing I lack is time to do all the reading I’d like!

And yes, the “look” of your site is wonderful.

  6. I love the new “look” and that photo looks like it could be my DH and one of the kids, or maybe my 2 boys. It’s a wonderful photograph! Thanks, Dave & Cheryl, for all your nifty work!
