…the wrong week to give up complaining!

On Sunday, after reading that all the members of Tracy’s family were going to do something they don’t normally do this week, I wanted to play along too.

I thought about going vegetarian for a week or taking on a new project – but both of those require thought and planning and time. So – I decided to go with my initial urge – to not complain for a week.

While I won’t be complaining, I can, however, state facts: It’s 9 degrees. It’s snowing. I have places I need to be today that require driving – and one of those places has hills. My car does not do well on snowy hills. Freezing rain is predicted for later this week.

But you won’t hear me complain.

On we go… rejoicing. 🙂

(Wait a minute, in my first line, was I complaining about not being able to complain?)

Just FYI – looking at the KDOT map this morning, pretty much all the roads in the eastern 2/3 of the state are pink: snowpacked and icy.

  1. We’ll let you slide on the complaining complaint, just be careful not to slide on those hills. I cancelled my outing plans today and hope to stick close to the house. Brrr… it’s cold out there.

  2. goobmom…nice line above “slide… slide”.

Cheryl…how about if I take over the Weather Complaint Department for a week to give you some help. This at the risk of my complaining sounding like whining. Then with whine, I gotta have cheese…and meat (ham, turkey), and then, of course, bread. Maybe a cup of soup; and a bit of fruit thrown into the mix. And then–COMPLAIN COMPLAIN–I gotta clean up the kitchen.
Maybe I better think about this volunteering thing for a day or two…

  3. Waaaaah! I should’ve done my shopping yesterday! The cupboard is practically bare and I have a few presents to pick up. It looks like it should be a little warmer tomorrow and maybe the roads will be clear enough for me to venture out. (I am a big chicken about driving in this weather.) Tomorrow night we are supposed to get more precipitation, though, so I’d better get it done before that!

  4. I’ll complain for you.

It’s cold, it’s dark, and the snow was just enough to make things almost pretty enough to justify dragging myself and the camera out and about.

I need a robo-camera! One that I can follow from my snug seat in front of the computer and tell it “focus on that lovely snowy branch now…OK, a bracketed burst of three!”

Also the streets of Topeka are full of idiotic drivers like the one my friend just described to me, who was fishtailing all over the road but didn’t have both hands on the wheel because…that’s right…she was talking on her cellphone! AAARRRGGGGH!

  5. And I can complain because you all have got snow and all we’ve had here for the past two days is a cold miserable rain. It isn’t even pretty. Blah, blah, blah . . .
