Rock City is in Ottawa County, just SW of Minneapolis (and about 20 miles north of Salina.)
My column this week was about Rock City.
The rock was there first.
Off in the distance is Minneapolis.
The gift shop. Sylvia Skanks was working at the gift shop. She told us to be sure and come back before we left the premises for our “free icee.” Well, we did go back!
The icee was one of these things in a plastic sleeve. I had orange. Yum. It was fun to get a free treat!
Your photographs are WAY better than mine! (not a surprise…) I think your first photo of rocks is the “kissing” rocks, or maybe that’s just what we called them.
I think we were told that these rocks are not found anywhere else in the world. Could that be true?
I really like the photo of the light coming through the rocks, and the one with the trees surrounding the stone.
