Wichita’s riverscape, at the confluence of the Arkansas River and the Little Arkansas River. That first building there (on the right) is Exploration Place.

And this is where they keep the Keeper of the Plains.

The culture of the Plains Indian culture is described and Indian music plays over the speakers.

Two pedestrian walkways cross the two rivers; both lead to the Keeper of the Plains.

  1. Isn’t the new River Corridor area cool? There is a lot more to come, I understand. A friend of ours was the main landscape architect who worked on the Keeper area. Some of the boulders along there came from our land–though I think most of the ones from our place went closer to Gander Mountain. Did you get to see it at night with the fires lit?

  2. Jenni – yeah, the River Corridor area was way cool. I’d driven by, but had never walked around the Keeper of the Plains. But then, I guess a lot in the area is relatively new. (I think it said that the walkways were built in 2006.)

That’s neat that some of your rocks were used.

No, we didn’t see the fires lit. I’ll bet that’s great.
