On Friday, a delivery came from Amazon. It was a Christmas present from my mom (who loves me very much). The book hadn’t been published yet (at Christmas). Mom reads Joshilyn Jackson books and knows I’m a fan also. Now the book is out and now I have it. I started it over the weekend and it’s great so far.

Joshilyn’s Jackson’s Faster than Kudzu blog makes me laugh often and laugh hard. I sometimes read her entries out loud to Dave. Today is Joshilyn’s 40th birthday. She’s not a Kansan and maybe has never been to Kansas, but she writes great stuff.

And, a book I mentioned the other day, arrived in today’s mail. Karen Epp of Newton sent me a copy of “With Love Stan.”

Her brother wrote a lot of letters home when he was in Vietnam. It looks like it will be interesting, but heartbreaking. The book has black-and-white photos to help tell Stan’s story.

So, between these two books and Gary’s Luck which came on Monday, I’m going to have to kick the cat out of her, er, my chair and get some reading time in.

  1. Those books look great. Since I so often enjoy the same type of books you do, it’s good to know what you are reading.

As for the chair. You might have to buy a new chair, for either you or the cat. Never forget, you buy, she owns.

  2. I am like Janet. I enjoy knowing what you are reading too, as you do a good job selling the book, plus they are usually what I like also. I received the “From Emporia The Story of William Allen White” for Christmas, then for my birthday I received the “Last Dance At The Frosty Queen”. I should have a big list by next Christmas, as I enjoyed the blog of Joshilyn Jackson’s and think I would like her book too. Perhaps you should receive a commission on these books you promote. Thanks for the ideas.
