We’re having strong south winds today, running at about 25 mph. It’s 52 degrees out there now, so no ice here, thank goodness.

If it were any colder, we’d be talking some big windchill, but it’s not too bad out there, temperature-wise.

But we are up to our necks in damp grayness.

I ran out to Walgreen’s earlier this afternoon and picked up a few things. I don’t know what there is about the check-out clerks there; they are so nice, overly nice, Pleasantville nice. It’s kind of freaky… but in a good way.

  1. The wind is really blowing here tonight. When it hits the tarp over the neighbors pontoon boat outside this window it sounds like boat and all are going to come right. Mother Nature is sure rustling her skirts, trying to ward off Old Man Winter for a while longer. I think she’s gonna loose this battle, he’s been spittin’ and spewin’ all day. We need the moisture that’s for sure but we could do with a little less skirt rustling.

  2. Shortly after posting this last night I suddenly realized the wind had stopped, like someone shut the back door. I took the dog out (I was dog sitting) and it was weirdly warm.
