Bowyer looking for first Cup win in midst of Chase
Emporia, Kan., native making big strides in second season
By Bill Weber of NASCAR.com
Weber writes about Clint Bowyer, Emporia, Veterans Day, William Allen White, and he even mentions … Poetry on the Porch!
Ya gotta READ THIS STORY.
Two worlds intersect, amazing.
Wow! What an article! It looks like Bill Weber truly did his homework before he wrote his story! I am very impressed! What a tribute to Clint Bowyer AND to Emporia! He certainly should be invited to Emporia sometime for a tribute to him and his writing!
“Not many were paying attention to Bowyer outside of Emporia, Kan., which proclaimed July 7 as “Clint Bowyer Day” — 7-7-07 for his No. 07 Chevrolet. The 28-year-old concedes he still isn’t the most famous to hail from his hometown; the city of about 30,000 between Kansas City and Wichita also claims journalist William Allen White. But barely a decade after deciding to race cars for a living, Bowyer knows NASCAR’s most coveted championship is within his grasp.”
