Speaking of pop bottles (see previous post), Ray Randolph sent this photo of old bottles he has.

Note the background – that’s his “ready-reference map of Kansas.” Ray is a displaced Kansan, living in Indiana.

  1. A lot of carbonated beverages stung on the way down as I recall from my childhood. I don’t know much about the bottling plant. I think it was in operation into the 1950s. I’ve seen a bottle in an antique shop. I’m guessing it was like Nehi or Shasta today with all flavors from cola to black cherry to creme soda.
