Here’s the ceremonial desk where photos are taken of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius signing bills and posing with legislative pages.
The Governor was out of town when I visited. She was headed to Ohio to help her father celebrate a birthday. Her father, John Gilligan, was once Governor of Ohio. They are the first father-daughter pair of governors in the country.
A Democrat in this Republican state, Gov. Sebelius is serving her second term. In 2005, Time named her as one of the top five governors in the U.S.

As the 2008 presidential race is already underway, she is on a relatively short list of Democrat VP prospects. I am more inclined to think she would be tapped for a Cabinet post.
