I like hens and chicks. Don’t know how the plant got its name though. And if there’s just one plant, is it called a hen and chick?

Which came first the seed or the hen??????
Those are definitely just hens… the chicks are the little tiny ones that sprout out around the big ones. My mom and grandma had those growing all over the place and would always give them away when people came to visit. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single one in a pot before!
Aha, big hens, little chicks. Well that makes sense. Never really thought about it before.
For goodness sake, don’t buy any!! I have many, many, many and they’re free! I’m not good with a lot of plants, but hens & chicks grow around here like mad!
ele——–I need some this year—-PLEASE—–my ducks & geese & chickens & turkeys ate mine last year———–don’t have the livestock this year———so I can plant more hen & chicks———-
How many would you like, Flips? 100, 200?? I’d be HAPPY to give you some hens and chicks!!
