Museums and libraries are good reuses for defunct depots. I wish we still had Emporia’s depot.
What a great use for the old depot. Here in Madison, our old depot is practically out my back door. It’s a museum, but isn’t open often.
Yes, the loss of Emporia’s old depot was a terrible loss. Too bad they didn’t find a use for it before that fire happened.
Thanks for a look at the depot. I’m glad it’s in use instead of boarded up or demolished like many other old depots.
According to ATSF historian, Lloyd Stagner, the Marion-McPherson branch line took off from Florence.
