This is Buddy. A very cute dog. And sweet. He came to the book signing at Town Crier on Saturday. But he did not come alone…
Marilyn Hope Lake of Hutchinson signs a copy of Buddy and the Grandcats.
Buddy and the Grandcats is the story of a dog who has two cats come live with him and they all have to adjust. Lake said that the book is “good for people with blended families.”
So the book is based on real-life animals. “I saw them interacting and I thought ‘that’s a great story,'” Lake said.
Her husband, Denton Warn, did 28 original illustrations for the book.
What a sweet puppy! And the illistrations are so accurate! I bet this is a wonderful kids book! Wish I could do that!

That picture of Buddy is great! May I use it giving you credit for taking it of course. I use the one of Buddy and Brad a lot. But this one of Buddy and the one of the book are equally good. Hopefully, I’ll have teeth next time we meet.
Thanks so much for all this great publicity. I’ve sold nearly 500 books now — actually about 485. Still, it’s pretty good for a self-publisher. People who read it, or look at the pictures love it. It’s just getting folks to see it.
