A little bit of thunder, tiny bits of hail, and rain.
Wet and windy
Took a road trip today – and this was pretty much what the whole day was like. Oh, yeah, add cold temps (mid-40s) and strong northerly winds to this picture. But at least the wheat is greening up nicely, no? ***
Clamoring for Color
Today’s Flyover People column as seen in The Emporia Gazette: CLAMORING FOR COLOR The sunroof isn’t working these days. I keep pushing the open button, but there’s no sun, no blue sky. For months we’ve had a smear of white-gray above us, a dreary monologue of clouds. Sure, gray happens this time of year, but …
Different day
Yesterday, freezing rain, sleet, snow. Today, the trees are still a bit icy – it’s only 27, but the sky is Happy Blue (that should be a Crayola color.) Yay! A bit of green slipping into the world.
a bit o’ ice
We received about 1/4 inch of ice overnight – plus maybe a 1/2 inch of sleet. Sleet is a noisy form of precipitation. It’s 32 here and still sleeting.
Sleet, ice, snow
Is this the ninth snow of the season? I’m losing track. Tonight, sleet and ice in the Emporia area, followed by snow.
Sunshine today
Sun streams through the stained glass today. (Harry Hart, artist.)
16 degrees
Broken clouds this morning. There may be a bit of sun coming our way today.
Here we go again
Plug in your snow shovels, folks, it’s time for Round 8. According to the National Weather Service, most of the snow should fall on Monday between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. But, as I look out my window, tiny flakes are falling now.
Need…
blue sky. The sooner the better. *
Wet snow
This morning The wet snow overnight stuck to trees and shrubs. We only got an inch or so and it’s already gone for the most part. (I like that in snow – now you see it, now you don’t.)
