Odd wording on that sign.
I am wanting to make a trip there this summer! Have you been to Pillsbury Crossing outside of Manhattan? My sister in law says I have to visit some time! Planning on going to the Discovery center this summer with a stop by the crossing and then a scenic drive home!
We visited the center today, it was well worth the trip and we were delighted to see some of Dave’s photos incorporated in the displays.
A staff member was near one of the signs and explained that they denote a ‘safety area’ for handicapped individuals in case of emergency, e.g. in case of fire, an individual in a wheel chair could go to that area and the fire department would know to check that area and be equipped to provide whatever assistance was needed. Hopefully those that would have such needs are familiar with the terminology.
